How would you display decks of playing cards?

I have a collection of playing card decks. I would like to display some of the most unique decks the main room of my house, but this presents a problem. The more unique decks have a different picture on the face of each card, and in order to really show these decks off, people would at least need to be able to browse them.

So, any suggestions on how to display card decks?

How would you display decks of playing cards?
what about using those small "brag book" photo albums for them. They are easy to slip the cards into and you can put a couple on each page so all the pictures are visible. This would protect them from the oils off of peoples hands as well.

Another thought is the trading card plastic covers that are available for things like pokemon or baseball cards. Those would be easy enough to put two cards into, facing the backs outwards and still protect the cards from handling.
Reply:r these decks of cards of value? If they rn't.. the inexpensive way is to mount them w/ ACiD FREE tape found in the scrapbooking in craft stores then put them in a frame ( mount them on foam board.. they make color ones) OR if they r of value.... then get a good frame %26amp; change out the glass to UV glass to protect them from fading over time. Purchase a linen or suede matboard from any frame shop %26amp; they will cut it down for u to size of frame. THEN in the scrapbooking section... they make ACID FREE photo corners.. like they used in the OLD photo albums... then u can mount them on the matboard w/ these corners ( protecting the cards from tape) then put it into the frame %26amp; on the wall.. Viola!

Those r the best 2 ways that i know of to do it.
Reply:I would use the 9 pocket page sheets.. Ultra Pro.

That would be your best bet. You can buy packs of them and then put them all in binders and display the binders and that way everyone can browse through the binders and will be able to see all of the cards. I have like 4 binders somewhere full of old trading cards in the 9 pocket page sheets.. Hope this helps..

Enjoy!
Reply:I agree a photo album such as designed for baseball and yugioh cards would be ideal. They have card sized slots.

You could also scrapbook them or put them in peel-back photo albums.

You could fan them out the way people hold cards in their hand or put them in an arrangement such as a solitaire game, or deal out a hand of poker with hands showing. All these might be arranged in a padded picture frame to hang on the wall. If the frame is stuffed full enough the cards will stay put.
Reply:if you want to display all of the cards at one time in some decks you could get a really big picture frame with glass and backer board and get a piece of poster board and lay out the cards they way you want them to look and cut out the poster board were you put the cards then glue the poster board to the backer board to the picture frame then put the cards in the holes you cut out then take the glass and put it over it and then take some clear tape and tape the glass to the backer board so your cards wont slide out of the holes you cut and then put the whole thing back in the frame you may have to move the pins that hold the backer board to the frame closer so you get a snug fit find the wall you want it on sit back and enjoy it and it would a good conversation piece you could do this with all of your decks or the other or you could find a local baseball card shop they may have display frames you can buy or order

What do las vegas casinos do with used playing cards?

I want Flamingo Las Vegas playing cards and I wanted to know what they do with the used ones. Since they change them every 1 to 2 hours. I know they cut the corners or have holes in the corner to make sure people don't cheat. I don't care I want atleast 20 decks.

What do las vegas casinos do with used playing cards?
most Casinos give them away.

They do the same with dice
Reply:they sell them for about a buck in there gift shops i have also seen them in dollar stores
Reply:You can probably get them from Ebay. Cards are marked either with a marker or a stamp then they have either the cornors cut or a drill hole in the middle of them. Usually you'd find them in the Flamingo gift shop.
Reply:1) they sell them at their gift shop

2) they destroy them

3) they trash them..(some casino)....I saw this in person that Atlantic City. I went up there on a bus and there was a dumpster with two plastic bag full of old use cards.
Reply:Many of the Vegas casinos sell the used playing card out of a machine in the casino. The card have been re-decked by disabled folks for income. The players' club gives them away as gifts or prizes.

You could write the casino public relations office and tell them why you want that many desks. But expect that they will only send them to you if you have written the request on an official charity or non-profit organization letter head and includes a return phone number.
Reply:First they take it off the game and mark the deck with a black marker and then they cut off that corner, so a cheater cannot put it back on the game. Then they ship it off to a company where they rearrange the deck back into suits. Then they sell it back in their gift shop or sell it to other local gift shops. Unless you know one of the managers in the pit that will give a box of used cards then you're stuck paying for it in their gift shop. Nothing is free in Vegas unless you get of the casinos coupon books, some do give you one free deck of cards.
Reply:They put them back in sequence and resell in their gift shops.
Reply:call them or email them and see if they will send you some. They give them away or sell them in the gift shops of thier hotels.

In what stores can I buy a deck of playing cards?

where can i buy playing cards besides online. I know cvs sells playing card, what other stores sell it too?

In what stores can I buy a deck of playing cards?
Wal-Mart, Wal-Green's sells them. I really suggest that you use Bicycle cards. They are easy to shuffle once you loosen them up a bit and are not expensive.
Reply:There is not a tobacconist in the world that doesn't sell cards. Where have you been? Wish you well in you endeavour to find the elusive card - when you do get a deck, shuffle them close your eyes and pick a card. Then post on the Y%26amp;A what you got and I'll get back to you! Best of luck in your endeavours! :-}
Reply:the liquor store sells them
Reply:I think very store on earth has playing cards! Ok, so make that every store in America. I guess you are from the U.S.??
Reply:lol, you obviously don't live in Vegas...there are cards everywhere there!

I've found playing cards (Bicycle, Hoyle, and others) almost anywhere, like in grocery stores, souvenir shops, gas stations, pharmacies, shopping centers, marts, etc. I don't know of any specific "card shops", but I hope I helped out somewhat!

;)
Reply:regular playing cards? most general stores have them
Reply:dollar stores, any stores, just ask.
Reply:any general store CVS, Rite Aide, Kinney Drugs, Eckerds

any grocery store will sell them as well
Reply:Shop Rite definately sells them. They are usually near the school supply section.

Your local Dollar Store will definately have them. They will not be Bicycle quality but they are cheap. You might be able to find a good waxed deck there.

If you go to a Sams Club, Costco, or BJ's Wholesale store, you will be able to buy them in bulk (usually aroud 6 decks). They most often sell Bicycle cards and you end up saving money. Though if you only need one deck, a wholesale store might not be for you.

It's interesting because I usually don't see them everywhere either. The two places that stand out in my mind are

1. Shop Rite (or other grocery stores)

2. The Dollar Store.

3. Sams Club type of store. (Look around the Books/Movies section)

Hope I was some help

Where Can I Buy The paper used to make Playing Cards?

U know a regular deck of playing cards. What type of paper is used to make them? What's it called and where can I buy it at?

shoes stock

Why were the materials chosen to make playing cards?

We know that the main materials to playing cards are ink and pasteboard, but why did the creaters of playing cards choose to use these items? please help us! project for sci.

Why were the materials chosen to make playing cards?
That was likely the most economical material to use at the time the modern playing card deck was created. Keep in mind, playing cards as we know them were based on tarot cards--that might be another angle to research from.
Reply:after reading this article I would say because they wanted the cards to last longer.........

What are the best poker playing cards available?

I've seen some nice plastic Ceasar's Palace cards which are black and gold. The look really nice and they are supposedly a very durable card.

Anyone have any recommendations as to what the best poker cards are with the regular sized faces, and/or what the quality of the caesars palace cards are if you have ever used them.

Here's a link to the caesars cards http://www.kardwell.com/caesars-playing-...

Thanks!

What are the best poker playing cards available?
The plastic cards are called k.e.m cards, they use them because they are hard to mark so others can't cheat. The k.e.m cards are expensive, I've seen them go for as much as 15 bucks per pack, but they are durable so they last a long time and like i said they are hard to mark as well. You can find them on-line at www.gamblers general store .com, they are located in Las Vegas and have been around for a very long time, they also sell poker tables and anything that has to do with gambling.

Reply:You can't go wrong with KEM cards.
Reply:well one of my friends has WPT cards, those are pretty nice. and i have a deck of pink circus circus card also nice but really any cards are fine
Reply:Hoyle are fine enough
Reply:I will agree with sincity on this one. Kem cards are amazing. In our tourneys we play the regular tables with run-of-the-mill cards but when we get to final table we use the kem cards...we only use them for final becuase of the price tag on them. Which, like sincity said is somewhere around $15 a pack we I am at.
Reply:All-plastic Kem cards are generally considered the cream of the crop, but you should expect to pay about $20 for a 2-deck setup. Copag and Gemaco also make all-plastic cards that typically cost a few bucks less.

Personally, I'm perfectly happy with casino-grade blackjack cards, which typically are linen-paper cards with a plastic coating. You can pick up used casino cards at most casinos for about $3 for 2 decks. They're also available on eBay, but usually cost a little more. You can also find UNUSED casino cards on eBay, usually costing around $20 for 10 decks.
Reply:no
Reply:JUMBO Poker Cards
Reply:KEMs are the best I have seen/used.. although for really cheap cards Bicycles are decent.

I play card games on the computer, but when I was younger I used to play with my family using actual playing cards. I just got curious if people still play cards the good old way. I miss those days a lot.

How do you make your own playing cards?

Hi All! I'm having a Clue/do theme party and I want to make custom playing cards for a board game. I'm not a wizard with photoshop and I'm not sure how to go about it. I have photographs of my suspects, and I want to alter them so that their name is on it somewhere obviously. I also want the backs printed as well with an image backing.

Thanks for any advice you have to give!

How do you make your own playing cards?
Standard size for playing cards is 2-1/2" x 3-1/2".

You have a couple options:

1. Buy a deck of cards and alter the face side only (backs all the same).

2. Buy card stock and other papers and make the cards from scratch.

3. Buy blanks from your local scrapbooking store and alter those.

If you look at playing cards, most have a white border all around, on both the front and back. I would include this in your design on the fronts, but not on the backs. Select a design you like for the back, put it all over one sheet of paper and print that out on cardstock. Cut into cards and then decorate the fronts.

You can use stickers which is by far the easiest way to create cards in bulk. Stamps are also handy for mass production. There are markers created for the sole purpose of writing on slick surfaces including photographs.

If you want the cards to be smooth (as much as possible) and playable, stick to flat embellishments (no buttons, beads, etc). You could laminate the cards - it would "seal" everything and give a smooth surface, easy to play with.

For more ideas, go to your local scrapbooking store.

Good Luck!!
Reply:You won't ever get professional results unless you go to a card publisher, but there'a a couple things you can do:

1. You can print your photos out on cardstock and cut them to card size.

2. You can purchase blank playing cards (about 7-10 dollars) and glue your picture to them, or print out copies and glue them to the front of a regular pack of cards if you just want a standard back. Hope these help.

Playing cards?

Where can I find a set of playing cards that do not have numbers in them? I am looking for cards that only have the suits. For example, the 9 of hearts card would only have 9 heart symbols, no number 9 printed on it. Does anyone know what these decks are called or if they are used in a certain country?

These are not Tarot cards by the way, just regular playing cards. Thanks!
